Who we are
Born from the villages of Siwan, Bihar
RurallySmile is a registered non-profit organisation founded by a group of friends who grew up in the rural villages of Siwan, Bihar. Having personally experienced the challenges of limited educational opportunities and access to essential resources, we came together with a shared vision — to create opportunities for others and build stronger, more self-reliant communities.
In 2023, we officially registered RurallySmile as a non-profit organisation to broaden our impact and serve communities more effectively.
While our roots are in Siwan, Bihar, our mission knows no boundaries. We are committed to supporting communities wherever there is a need, working with individuals, volunteers, donors, educational institutions, corporate partners, and local organisations to create meaningful and sustainable change.
RurallySmile is proud to be a registered NGO, 80G and 12A certified, CSR eligible, with FCRA registration currently in process. Guided by transparency, accountability, and compassion, we strive to ensure that every contribution creates a lasting impact and every individual has the opportunity to thrive.

Our journey
How we got here
- 2010–22Growing beyond education
Over more than a decade, the work expanded to include healthcare, environmental conservation, skill development, community welfare, and social empowerment programs across Siwan.
- 2023RurallySmile officially registered
Incorporated as a not-for-profit company (Sec 8) with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs on 28 June 2023 — becoming 80G & 12A certified and CSR eligible.
- 2025Programs grow across the district
Continued exams, scholarships and community events reaching more villages around Siwan.
- TodayBuilding for the future
Expanding programs, pursuing FCRA registration, and working with volunteers, donors, corporates and institutions to create sustainable change wherever there is a need.

- 80G Certified — Donors can claim tax deduction on their contributions under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act
- 12A Certified — Foundation income is tax-exempt under Section 12A, ensuring maximum impact from every donation
- CSR Eligible — Corporates can direct their Corporate Social Responsibility funds toward our programs
- FCRA Registration — Application in progress. Foreign contributions will be accepted once the registration is approved
